Hot buttered toast first thing in the morning is traditional fare for an English breakfast. It’s simple to make and it tastes great at any time of the day. The toaster itself has been a permanent fixture in the kitchen for many years now, making it an integral part of any household. This section will give you all the information you need when buying a toaster.

What are Toasters?

A toaster can take two (or sometimes four) pieces of bread and turn them into toast by the means of internal filaments which heat up and cook the bread. A thermostat controls the amount of heat and therefore how brown the bread becomes. A timer then releases the bread after a set period of time, usually by ejecting it through the top of the appliance (hence the term ‘Pop-up Toaster’).

As well as bread, you can also use a toaster to toast muffins, buns and scones, according to your preference.
